Today, I testify – My Miracle.

To appreciate this post a little better, you should read my previous post: All I want for Christmas is…

Well, on Christmas eve, myself and a group of friends (we call ourselves “Smile Care“) went to visit a home.

This home, is where people with one disability or the other stay. In the spirit of Christmas, we went to show God’s love and share gifts with them. While all this was happening , I noticed something, they were all happy, they were so happy to see us, they kept dancing
to the music,  but the one thing they couldn’t do was verbally express how they felt…

If they wanted to say “thank you for coming”, they couldn’t.
If they wanted to say “we love you too”, they couldn’t.
If they wanted to say “please change the music” they couldn’t
No matter how hard they tried, they just couldn’t.
As much as they tried, their efforts were all indistinct utterances. Believe me, it was sad.
In the midst of the euphoria there was that palpable blemish.

Most of them, suffered from Down syndrome or Congenital abnormalities  which impaired their cognitive ability, physical growth and a particular set of facial characteristics.

In the midst of all this, I realized that miracles happen everyday and I tend to overlook them thinking they are my right.
How the fact I can talk, eat cake and say Thank you is a miracle.
The mere fact I’m alive is a miracle, we hear this all the time and it’s beginning to sound cliché
but let me share something with you.
I have six brothers that never made it, I could easily have been one of them…
but hey! You are reading my blog, that it self is… a miracle.

So many miracles we tend to sideline…

So today, I have not one, but several testimonies to share,
the pulpit, My blog…
the audience, You.
Envy no longer an ally,
Today, I declare to the whole world that,
God has been, is faithful.

One more consequential thing that struck me was how we do not take into cognizance the privileges we have
One thing my friends in that home wanted to do, was to express how they felt, but they just couldn’t.
but then, we can, and yet, we hold back.
So here is what I think,

You love someone, say it!… It’s a Miracle!
You Miss someone, call!  … It’s a Miracle!
Like someone/something ?, state it! … It’s a Miracle!

It’s a privilege we can express how we feel… Recognize this Miracle.

Where there is great love, there are always miracles. – Willa Cather

If we are true to ourselves, you’ll realize that there’s been so much God’s been doing, so many miracles we experience each day.

#QuickQuestion: Do you ever testify ? Let God know that you are grateful.
